Baseball cards are a fun way to express your enthusiasm for your favorite team or player. You may have even daydreamed about being on a baseball card yourself. With a new free iPhone app called Rookies, you can now put yourself or others on authentic-looking retro baseball card designs that you can share online. If you're a collector, the designs will look familiar to you, like the 1983 Topps design pictured above. To take it a step further, you can have 20 cards printed on premium card stock and packed in a genuine wax pack for $12.99 plus shipping.

To use the Rookies app, choose one of the 16 front templates, which will bring up the editor. Tap on the generic photo placeholders to add your own photo from your camera roll or take a new photo. Next, select the text edit button to add your own name and details to the design. You can also change the primary and secondary colors of the template by tapping on the paint can.

If you want to customize the back of the card, tap on the last button to flip to the back. From here, tap the template button to choose one of six back templates, then add your details.

When you're finished, your design will be saved to My Collection. You can then choose your designs and share them on Twitter, Facebook, or by e-mail (Mail app only). To order a pack of printed cards, click on the Print Card button at the top and follow the in-app instructions.

Rookies is available on just the iPhone for now, but an Android version is in the works.
