You may have recently learned how to block annoying callers on Android by adjusting settings in the caller's contact information. Now, you can handle the next step of ignoring someone--not seeing texts from them--by using NetQin's Mobile Manager for Android. Here's how to get started:

Important note: This app will ignore alerts for people on your blacklist, not prevent them from incurring charges for texts on your monthly bill. If you need a more permanent solution for blocking texts from your phone completely, you will need to contact your wireless provider.

Step 4: Set up your preferences for blocking SMS. Chances are you'll want to leave the block method on blacklist.

Step 5: Adjust the notification settings. Depending on the situation, you may or may not want to be alerted when a message is blocked by the app.

Step 6: Return to the front page of the app and press on Blacklist.

Step 7: Press on Add a Number. Select where you want the number to come from. If the person is in your Contact List, you can import their number directly. Alternatively, you can add numbers from your call/message log or enter it manually. Repeat steps 8 and 9 for as many people as you need to add.

Mobile Manager will actually ignore all communications from the people on your blacklist (or anyone not on your whitelist). What's nice is that the calls and messages from these people won't even make it into the call or message log of your device, so you really don't need to worry about them anymore. The app keeps a record of any message or call it blocks, so you can still view old blocked messages should the need arise. Additionally, you can simply remove a person from your blacklist to have all of the blocked messages reappear in your message log, should you have a change of heart.
