Hoover's Online to no longer support the Mac

A MacFixIt reader recently inquired to Hoover's Online (which advertises a PDA accessible download of their business "who's who" catalog) regarding whether or not they were planning on continuing to utilize AvantGo, since AvantGo no longer supports Macs. Their response:

"We will no longer use AvantGo as a provider - Roundpoint is developing this for us now using an XML feed.

"However (and I'm sorry to say this), Roundpoint is not going to support Macs either, due to the low percentage of marketshare that Macs command and less than one-third of mobile devices being Mac compatible. If you put those two things together, it is no longer feasible to support those devices.

"If you have any additional questions, please feel free to contact me directly or contact Hoover's Customer Support at 800-486-8666, Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. CST. Any of our representatives will be happy to assist you."

Ironically, the Roundpoint Web site prominently shows an Apple Cinema Display.
