Honda gives the best look yet at the all-new Ridgeline pickup
This final teaser will have to satiate truck fans through the holiday season, until its debut at the Detroit Auto Show in January.
Honda has confirmed that the 2016 North American International Auto Show (NAIAS) in Detroit will be where the automaker launches its latest product, the second-generation Ridgeline pickup. To celebrate the announcement -- or perhaps to keep the hype train fueled up for the last leg of its trip -- Honda's dropped one last teaser of its body-on-frame, light-duty unit.
The ultimate (literally ultimate, because it's the final) teaser seen here gives us a better look at the truck's rear end. Whereas the Pilot on which it's based picks up a taillight arrangement similar to the diminutive HR-V crossover, the Ridgeline sports a more traditional, block-shaped taillight.
The truck still looks to have a large gap between the cabin and the box, which is purely stylistic, as the two parts are not separate on a unibody chassis. Honda did this for the first-generation Ridgeline, as well.
All that remains unseen is the interior. The front end was previewed in Honda's Baja racing truck, so we'll have to wait to NAIAS in January to unwrap Honda's present in its entirety. Honda's unveiling will mark 11 years since the original Ridgeline debuted at the same show back in 2005.
