Hit the road Jack

Google has expanded its Google Transit site to six regions, following its December test version of its trip planner.

Travelers can punch in their point A to point B information and learn the various modes of public transportation that are available to them, as well as the most direct route.

But before going gonzo on the concept of taking a hop, skip and jump via bus and train throughout the states, keep in mind that the Google Transit site only applies to six major cities currently, according to its details page.

The cities served are Eugene and Portland, Ore.; Honolulu; Pittsburgh; Seattle; and Tampa, Fla.
