Mark Cuban's HDNet, a cable and satellite service dedicated entirely to high definition programming, is experimenting with distributing some of its work online.

Because high definition video creates huge files (about 1.3 gigabytes for a 20 minute clip) Cuban is tapping commercial peer-to-peer download company Red Swoosh to serve the programming. Cuban is an investor in Red Swoosh.

The first programming available, which can be downloaded now, is an HD version of the recent space shuttle launch. Other shows will be posted later, and will be available through an RSS feed.
