Handheld blender for everything from soup to nuts

The Bamix Immersion Blender provides versatile attachments that make food preparation easy.

Doesn't open cans. Williams-Sonoma

Homemade soup made from scratch is perhaps one of the best things ever invented. However, it doesn't happen enough because it has a reputation of being a long, drawn-out process. And in truth, some aspects of the soup-making experience are cumbersome: it takes time to build flavor and cook the ingredients, and when completed, quite often the final result needs to be transferred to a food processor in batches in order to achieve the desired consistency. Skipping this last step can be avoided altogether with this one little addition to the kitchen.

The Bamix Immersion Blender allows for handheld blending directly in the soup pot. Available in white or silver, the 150-watt, 13.5-inch tall (with a 3-inch diameter) kitchen gadget is designed for ease of use in a quick and efficient manner. After all, it doesn't get much easier than working in the pot you are actually preparing food in. When completed and brought to the table, soup could even be served according to individual consistency preference.

The immersion blender is more than just a soup-making device; along with its two-speed motor, attachments are provided that add versatility to the unit. In addition to the puree/mincer attachment, a whisk and a beater blade are included. A plastic beaker is also provided as a handy means to quickly blend ingredients one at a time or for otherwise working in small batches. The versatility provided by this one kitchen appliance should be powerful enough to let another certain kitchen appliance just have a rest: the can opener.
