Hail to Bonnie Cha, Crave's new chief correspondent

Bonnie Cha, long a CNET mobile editor, has joined the Crave team as full-time writer--and we couldn't be happier.

Meet Crave's new chief correspondent, Bonnie Cha.

Many of you surely already know her as a longtime esteemed member of CNET's mobile-reviews team. What you don't know is that the scheming minds behind Crave have long plotted to kidnap Bonnie and drag her to the Crave cave. Our evil plan has finally hatched (cue the "mwahaha").

Not to worry. Bonnie will still be keeping an ear on mobile-phone news. Marguerite Reardon/CNET

During almost eight years on the mobile beat, Bonnie wrote a few hundred reviews; co-hosted numerous Dialed In podcasts; reported multiple times from CES, CTIA, and Mobile World Congress (where she once got pick-pocketed); and even traveled to such exotic locales as Canada to track down the hottest handsets.

As Crave's new full-time staff writer, Bonnie will cover all manner of gadget goings-on, from the sublime to the downright silly. She's especially fascinated by the intersection of tech and lifestyle, and the minds behind the inventions that impact our daily lives. She's also intrigued by the cool DIY projects readers have going on. Keep your eyes and RSS feeds open; she's already working on some great stories.

In some ways, Bonnie's arrival at Crave marks a back-to-the-future moment, as she briefly co-hosted the Crave podcast with archrival Brian Tong several years back. Expect to see her appearing alongside Donald Bell and Eric Franklin on the current Crave 'cast (those guys desperately need supervision).

When she's not scouring the world for Crave-able gear and ideas, Bonnie likes to listen to indie and hip-hop music. She loves some team from USC called the Trojans and she absolutely hates it when you wish her Happy Birthday. Also, she is way into surfing (she worked at a surf magazine in a former life), hiking, running, and snowboarding (preferably on one of these Star Wars-themed boards ). Yeah, girl's got geek cred.

Bonnie joins the CNET product reviewers and news reporters who regularly contribute to Crave, as well as our amazing assemblage of freelancers, at an exciting time. Look for a new design in the near future, plus many more surprises. In the meantime, if you have a story you'd like to see Bonnie cover, write to her at bonnie.cha at cbsinteractive.com, and follow her on Twitter: @bonnieCNET.

About the author

Leslie Katz, Crave's senior editor, heads up a team that covers the most crushworthy (and wackiest) tech, science, and culture around. As a co-host of the now-retired CNET News Daily Podcast, she was sometimes known to channel Terry Gross and still uses her trained "podcast voice" to bully the speech recognition software on automated customer service lines. E-mail Leslie.
