Software guru--and inventive Boston Red Sox fan--Ray Ozzie has a method for keeping fans productive as the team continues its quest to reverse baseball's most notorious curse.

His company, Groove Networks, has started a special World Series promotion that will allow Red Sox Nation to work at home after those late nights glued to the tube. Customers can get a free trial and discount on its Groove Virtual Office software. The software will allow employees to combat what Groove calls Playoff Exhaustion Syndrome by sleeping in a little bit and working from home.

The playoff series between the Red Sox and their longtime nemesis, the New York Yankees, prompted reports of sleep deprivation taking a toll on Wall Street.

"Morning meetings have become almost as ineffective as the Yankee bullpen," Ozzie said in a statement. "With a high-speed Internet connection and Groove Virtual Office software, fans can coordinate effectively with their co-workers whenever they happen to wake up--and regardless of whether they're at home, or following the team to St. Louis."

The World Series will start on Saturday with the Red Sox facing off against the St. Louis Cardinals at Fenway Park.

People will get a 19.18 percent discount on the Groove software, a not-so-subtle reference to the year the Red Sox last won the World Series. Participants can enter the program by going to Groove's Web site and entering the promotional code "P-ReverseTheCurse."
