Grisoft, maker of AVG Internet security tools, on Tuesday introduced AVG Anti-Rootkit. The new, free product detects and removes rootkits, malicious software used by cybercrooks to hide other nefarious software on PCs.

Anti-Rootkit is available in English only. Other security firms also offer rootkit detection and removal tools, and it is a feature in products from vendors including Symantec and McAfee.
