Griffin's Woogie 2 turns iPhone into soft toy

Griffin introduces Woogie 2, a case that holds an iPhone or iPod Touch--and protects gadgets during playtime.

While it's not uncommon for parents to give their iPhones to their kids to play with, they run the risk of slobbery screens and dropped devices, especially with the young ones.

Griffin might ease such concerns with its Woogie 2, a toy that doubles as an iPhone case. The Woogie 2 can be purchased in Griffin's online store for $19.99 and is available in either pink or blue. It was designed in the United States and is made with non-toxic materials.

The case has a protective screen and offers access to the headphone jack. And unlike Fisher-Price's slobber-proof iPhone case, which is hard, the Woogie 2 is soft and furry. Its five legs can also act as a prop for the phone.

"The original Woogie continues to be such a popular toy among children and adults that we decided to introduce a new version with an updated design and vibrant new colors," Mark Rowan, President of Griffin Technology, said in a statement. The Woogie is designed for kids 3 and up.

The original Woogie can be seen in this ad. It looks like pets like the fluffy toy too:
