Google said on Tuesday that it would give a free Google Mini enterprise search system to any company that replaces its existing search solution with a Google Search Appliance by the end of the year. "Given the recent turmoil with providers of legacy search solutions, there has never been a better time to upgrade your company's search to Google," said Dave Girouard, general manager of Google Enterprise. "This program allows companies to upgrade both their internal and public-facing search solutions all in one quick step."

The Google Search Appliance is an integrated hardware and software search appliance, while Google Mini is designed for smaller companies. More information on the switch offer can be found here.
