Anyone can buy their lover roses and chocolates for Valentine's Day, but what about a shiny new phone? Google is making it easier for aspiring casanovas to do just that by dropping the prices of the Nexus 5X and Nexus 6P phones by $50.

The Google Nexus 5X can be purchased unlocked at $299 for the 16GB unit and $349 for the 32GB model, down from $379 and $429, respectively. The gold matte version of the Nexus 6P will run you $449 for the 32GB model and $499 for the 64GB version, which were previously priced at $499 and $549, respectively. Plus, if you go for the larger Nexus 6P in any color, Google is offering a $50 discount on a Huawei Watch.

Sure, you don't have to buy it for your sweetheart -- feel free to treat yourself -- but the promotion is running as a limited time offer for Valentine's Day with no guarantee that the price cuts will stick. Both Nexus phones are already a good value in comparison to other mid-range smartphones, and with this latest discount, you'll be hard-pressed to find a better value.
