Google, HP recall Chromebook 11's original charger
The companies offer a free replacement charger to people affected by the recall and resume sales of the laptop featuring an improved charger.

Google announced on Tuesday that it will replace customers' original Chromebook 11 chargers for free. Customers who purchased the laptop before December 1 can fill out an online request form for a new charger. Google said it will mail qualifying customers a new charger along with a prepaid shipping package to return the original charger to be properly disposed. Google also reiterated that Chrombook 11 owners should "stop using the recalled charger."
HP and Googlelast month after users reported that the chargers were overheating, causing issues during use. Google said at that time that it was working with the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) to determine the proper course of action. Google said on Tuesday that the CPSC, along with other agencies, decided a recall was in order.
In addition to launching its recall, Google said that it has resumed the sales of its Chromebook 11. All new purchases include the improved charger.
