Global Village Fax and HotSync conflict work-arounds

Kendric Smith reports that the Global Village Fax software prevents using Palm HotSync on his G3 300 OS 8.1 when using the modem port. In talking with the GV people, they say that their software keeps polling the modem port, and this results in a conflict with HotSync. Suggested work-arounds were:

• Delete the GV Extensions, either physically, or by creating an Extensions File called Palm, and delete the GV extensions from this file. You can run this set of extensions when you want to HotSync, and go back to all of your extensions afterward.
• Use the Printer port for your HotSync instead of the Modem port.
