Getting iListen to work in Mac OS 9.1

CNET staff
Regarding yesterday's item on iListen not working with Mac OS 9.1, we received this reply from Chuck Rogers (Chief Evangelist for MacSpeech):

There are actually a couple of other things users can do if they absolutely must use Mac OS 9.1 with iListen.

    1. Set Virtual Memory to at least 160MB or 30MB greater than the amount of installed physical RAM, whichever is greater. This seems to fix the problem for many people.
    2. If this doesn't work, try duplicating the Mac OS 9 ALL extension set and adding the three MacSpeech extensions to it, then restart your Mac. This also seems to work for some people.

Initial results in testing the developer release of the next Mac OS 9.x system update are promising, and we hope to have a more conclusive word on this in the near future.
