Getting Hewlett Packard's new Printer drivers for free

CNET staff

It was announced over the weekend that Hewlett Packard has issued new drivers for its OfficeJet all-in-one printer line. However, upon visiting the Hewlett Packard web site to download the new driver, you learn that you can only order the software on a CD via regular mail at a cost of US$ 9.95.

In addition, it seems that some users cannot even sign up because of a glitch on the order page that creates aa circular error message.

However, calling Hewlett Packard's customer support center at: 208-323-2551 will yield a free driver CD, according to reader reports. You will have to call during normal business hours.
