Get off-road racer Dirt 2 (PC) for $9.99

That's for the download version. You can actually score the DVD for a little less, though you'll be on the hook for shipping. Either way, great game, great price!

Off-road racing has rarely looked lovelier than in Dirt 2, currently on sale for just 10 bucks.

Feeling the need for speed? Feeling the need for a permanent ban on the phrase, "feeling the need for speed"? Wishing I'd quit with the lame jokes and just get to the deal already? Got you covered, peeps.

From now until October 13 (aw, they're ending on my birthday), Microsoft is offering the off-road racing gem Dirt 2 (PC) for just $9.99. That's a whopping 75 percent off the original list price of $39.99.

The game will get delivered to you via Microsoft's Games for Windows Live client--meaning it's a download. If you'd rather have a physical copy, Amazon has Dirt 2 (PC) on DVD for $9.28--but shipping will run you another $5.28.

If you're not familiar with it, Dirt 2 is all about off-road racing. GameSpot awarded it a 9.0 and an Editors' Choice, calling it "as accessible and exciting" as any of the similar games that preceded it. Features include variable difficulty levels (so players of all skill levels can jump in), a lengthy career mode, gorgeous visuals, and splendid multiplayer competition.

Still not sold? Grab the two-event Dirt 2 demo and drive before you buy.

Bonus deal: Meritline has an 8GB PQI Traveling Disk flash drive for $10.95 shipped (with coupon code MLC114076100833NL1). These things are great for rescuing malware-infected PCs, among other things. Act fast: the code expires after 300 uses.
