Everyone who plays Destiny between now and December will receive a bonus payout of the game's new currency, Silver, developer Bungie has announced.

As part of the latest Bungie Weekly Update, the developer reiterated that everyone is getting some free Silver when microtransactions come to Destiny on October 13. However, the studio also teased, "If you appear in the game between now and December, you'll get even more Silver. Thanks for playing."

Silver is Destiny's new microtransaction currency that players can spend in the game's new Eververse Trading Company in-game store. When the store opens on October 13, players can spend Silver to buy more than a dozen emotes. It remains to be seen if Bungie will ever offer anything more than emotes.

Bungie has not yet announced Silver pricing details, but that information should come soon. Whatever the case, expectations are high, as one analyst believes Destiny's microtransactions could generate "hundreds of millions" in revenue per year.

Destiny players are already putting emotes to good use, as evidenced in this unexpectedly great Backstreet Boys/Gwen Stefani video.
