Get five Call of Duty games (PC) for $29.99

That's an awful lot of war-gaming for the price of a single game. Don't like shooters? Steam has slashed prices on dozens of other games as well.

If you've never had the pleasure of playing Activision's excellent Call of Duty series, here's your chance to do so on the cheap. Valve

As many of you have written to tell me, Steam is having a colossal sale on games this week (and through July 4). One of the real standouts: the Call of Duty Collection for $29.99.

That includes the original Call of Duty and its two expansion packs, United Offensive and World at War. You also get Call of Duty 2 and Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare. Given that the latter sells for $29.99 all by itself, it's like getting four bonus games free.

Other deals I'd definitely check out:

Although the Steam homepage says the sale is running through July 4, I'm seeing a countdown timer that's about two hours from running out. I'm not sure if some or all of these deals will end, change, or what.

I am sure I'm going to grab BioShock and a few others as fast as I can--then try to figure out when I'll have time to play them. Let's see, my schedule's free between 2-5 a.m...

Bonus deal: Buy.com has a Kingston 8GB flash drive for the almost unheard-of price of $9.95 shipped. Yep, you guessed it: there's a rebate (PDF). Still one of the best deals I've seen, though.
