In recent months I've showcased maybe half a dozen DVD rippers, and every time I've received e-mail from people asking if these freebies can handle Blu-ray Discs.

The full name of the product is actually WinX Bluray DVD iPhone Ripper. That should answer a question you may have, which is: can it also rip regular DVDs? (Yes. Yes, it can.)
But only for iPhones? In fact, the utility has profiles for all manner of Apple devices (iPhone, iPod, and Apple TV), and you can also use various generic profiles to rip discs for viewing on just about anything.
How well does it work with Blu-ray Discs, which are notoriously heavy on the copy protection? I haven't been able to put it to the test myself just yet, but if it's anything like Digiarty's regular DVD ripper (which I've used extensively), it should get the job done.
I'd like to mention at this point that I don't condone piracy, and believe you should rip only those discs you own. That constitutes fair use in my book. (I have no doubt I'll get an earful from those who disagree.)
