Get BioShock (PC) for 5 bucks
One of the all-time great first-person shooter/RPG hybrids can be yours for the price of a venti cafe mocha. BioShock lasts a lot longer and has way fewer calories.
This is a "repeat" of a deal that first appeared about a year ago.
Normally $19.99 and originally twice as much, the PC version of BioShock is on sale for just $4.99. (Today only!)
Update: Sorry, but I guess Steam decided not to honor the "through Nov. 1" language that accompanied this deal. The $4.99 price is no longer available.
There's no shipping or sales tax (except in Washington)--it's a digital download. It's also one of my all-time favorite games. BioShock is like a suspense novel come to life, with you as the main character.
It's primarily a first-person sci-fi shooter, but with pivotal role-playing elements that fit perfectly into the story. I won't spoil one bit of that story, but suffice it to say it's compelling enough to keep you playing all the way until the surprising, unpredictable, utterly satisfying end. It's also genuinely scary in places; I actually yelped a couple times while playing.
At $4.99, BioShock is a must-buy for anyone into PC gaming. (Check out GameSpot's review if you're still not convinced.) While you're at it, grab the beloved Plants vs. Zombies GOTY Edition, which is also on sale (today only) for $4.99.
To download these games, you'll need to install Valve's Steam software. Remember, do it quick: both deals expire at the end of the day.
Bonus deal: Also expiring today, CowBoom has a refurbished 16GB Zune HD player for $89.99, plus $5 for shipping--the lowest price I've seen.
