True story. Recently my wife was working in the kitchen, listening to music on her iPhone. Every so often I'd hear, oh, let's call it an "excited utterance." When I asked what was wrong, she cried that her "stupid headphones" kept getting snagged on things.

"Aha!" I said. "I have just the thing." Then I ran to get her the O!Snap Headphone Holder I was evaluating for this very post. Presto: problem solved, wife happy, life good.

This handy little gizmo normally sells for $14.99, but as part of a CNET exclusive, you can get the O!Snap Headphone Holder for $7.49 when you apply coupon code CNET at checkout. Shipping adds $2.49.

Update: The seller has extended the deal through today, July 8, but you'll need to use coupon code CNET2.

This clever rubber clip has a notched channel that snugly holds your earbud cord. Then you fold it lengthwise over your collar, allowing the strong magnets to snap together and keep it securely in place.

It's a simple thing, but it definitely helps keep the cord close to your body instead of dangling in front of you and flopping around while you do stuff. It's really intended to help joggers and gym-rats, but obviously it serves a purpose around the house as well. And if you use in-ear headphones, the clip will greatly reduce the rustling you hear when your cord brushes against your shirt.

As an added perk, the O!Snap can keep your earbuds tangle-free when you're not using them: Just bunch them up and wrap the clip around them like a magnetic twist-tie.

At press time, the Buy O!Snap buttons on the product page weren't working properly, but if you scroll down to the bottom of the page, you'll see where you can choose a color (there are five) and add it to your cart. Then input the coupon code and you're good to go.

If you've ever gotten frustrated by a floppy earbud cord, this is a fast and easy fix. And for just the next couple days, you can get it for less than a sawbuck.
