Get a Viore 22-inch HDTV for $149

Amazingly, it's new, not refurbished, and you don't have to mess around with rebates. The only catch? Actually, there is no catch. Just a sweet deal.

A 22-inch HDTV for $149. And it's not even Black Friday! Walmart

Looking for a wee TV for your desk, den, dorm room, or bedroom? Get ready for one of the best deals I've seen, like, ever.

Walmart has the Viore LC22VH56PB 22-inch LCD HDTV for $149, plus sales tax in most states. Shipping adds another $8, unless you opt for ship-to-store, in which case it's free.

On the spec front, the Viore delivers about what you'd expect: a 21.6-inch display, a 1,366x768-pixel native resolution (equivalent to 720p, which is more than adequate for a TV of this size), and a VGA input--handy if you want the LCD to double as a computer monitor.

One caveat about that, though: that resolution is definitely on the low side for a 22-inch monitor, so if you are planning to use this with your PC, I'd hold out for a model that offers 1,920x1,080 (aka 1080p).

Also, the LC22VH56PB has just one HDMI input (not a problem if you grabbed that HDMI switchbox deal yesterday). But it also has composite-video connectors, which can fill in for HDMI in a pinch. Check Viore's site for complete specs.

The last time I wrote about this TV, it was selling for $169. Before that, $200. I mention that because I think at this price point, many people will equate the TV with junk. It may well be an entry-level model, but if you check the user reviews, you'll see that a good 90 percent of buyers rated it four or five stars. That's pretty telling.

If you own this model and have any opinions to share, I'm all ears! But I have to say, if I was in the market for a small TV, I'd jump on this without hesitation.

Bonus deal: I don't know the first thing about Macs, other than that new MacBooks start at around $1,000. MegaMacs has a used 13.3 MacBook for $399.99, plus $20 for shipping. Specs include an Intel Core 2 Duo processor, 1GB of RAM, and a 60GB hard drive. You tell me, Mac fans: any good? Following some recent Windows-related system grief, I've been awfully tempted to give Macs a try.
