Well, yesterday was a bit of a disaster, no? After Amazon ran through its stock of Patriot X-Porter flash drives, the listing quietly changed to a third-party seller, the rebate offer disappeared, and shipping charges were tacked on. My sincere apologies if you ended up buying the drive at that point. I updated my post as quickly as I could, but I fear many people bought the drive thinking the rebate was still valid. I feel terrible!

Well, onward and upward. Regular Cheapskate readers know of my fondness for Logitech's Harmony series of universal remotes. One of the better models, the 700, has a list price of $149.95. Ouch.

Today, Meritline has the Harmony 700 universal remote for $69.95 shipped. That's after applying coupon code MLCSALEUS0427NL1 at checkout.

What's so great about the Harmonys? Thanks to Logitech's wizard-driven software, they're significantly easier to program than most universal remotes. Just choose your gear from a mammoth database and presto: you're good to go. They're also blissfully user-friendly, with guided onscreen help in case something didn't turn on or switch modes or something.

The Harmony 700 features a color LCD, a rechargeable battery (though not a charging dock), and support for up to six devices.

The user reviews on this model average four stars out of five, both at Logitech's site and Amazon's product page. (Incidentally, Amazon has the remote for $88.75 new, a pretty sweet deal in itself if you're not keen on refurbished gear.) And CNET editor John P. Falcone gave it four stars out of five in his full review of the remote.

Because Meritline is selling a white-box/refurb version, the warranty expires after 90 days. For what it's worth, I've had the same Harmony One for nearly three years, and it's humming along just fine. If you're still juggling multiple remotes, I think you'll find this $70 very well spent.

Bonus deal: Today only, DailySteals has a 6-foot HDMI v1.4 cable for $1 shipped. Yes, you read that right: $1 shipped. I don't imagine these will last long--but I got mine!

Bonus deal No. 2: Just because Cisco decided to pull the plug on Flip camcorders doesn't mean they're not still great little products. It does mean that sweet deals are going to start emerging, like this one: Today only, Yugster has the refurbished 8GB Flip MinoHD pocket camcorder for $67.97, plus $5 for shipping. That's after applying coupon code YUGSAVE5/25 at checkout. I've got one of these 720p babies, and it's sweet. Read what CNET editor Josh Goldman has to say about buying one of these guys , now that Cisco has stopped making them.
