Even the metal bits are there.

Disney

Remember that moment from "The Force Awakens" when you first saw Darth Vader's destroyed helmet and all the memories from the first Star Wars trilogy and the Sith Lord's heavy history mingled with the new film? You can recapture that feeling at home if you manage to buy one of Disney's limited-edition replica props of Vader's melted helmet.

The helmet is crafted through a complex process detailed in a behind-the-scenes video. It involves computer modeling, 3D printing and lots of hands-on time from skilled prop makers. Disney says the helmet "appears virtually identical to the piece used in the film" thanks to the use of the 3D digital data from the original prop.

The melted helmet is just one replica in a line Disney calls Ultimate Studio Edition collectibles. Other props include an FN-2187 Stormtrooper helmet complete with bloody streaks, Kylo Ren's helmet, Poe Dameron's X-wing helmet, Chewbacca's bowcaster and Rey's staff. Ren and Rey's lightsaber hilts are also part of the collection.

The product listings offer this warning: "This is not a toy. It is not meant to be worn as a costume, and does not contain any moving parts." Each prop includes a chip that will authenticate the product based on the serial number on the certificate of authenticity.

The helmet sells for $3,500 and is available to the continental US only. If you're a fan outside the US, you'll need to sort out a proxy or get a friend in the States to pick one up for you. Only 500 of the helmets will be made. The FN-2187 Stormtrooper Helmet ($1,750) will also be restricted to 500 units, but the other replicas don't specify a production limit.

Even if you don't empty your bank account to get one of these props, you can still pore over the detailed photos to get a feel for the level of complexity and thought that went into each piece for the film.
