Get a Logitech Harmony One remote for $109.99

That's one of the lowest prices I've ever seen for my all-time favorite remote, which usually sells for $200. And it's new, not refurbished.

Logitech

This is an update of a deal I posted earlier this year.

My Logitech Harmony One remote control has outlasted two TVs and one DVR. After a good three years of use, I can say without a doubt that it's my favorite clicker ever.

CNET agrees with me, calling it "arguably the best consumer remote control currently available" in its review.

Unfortunately, Logitech still sells it for $200, which is not much less than when it first debuted years ago. But for a limited time, and while supplies last, Radio Shack will set you up with a Harmony One remote for $109.99 shipped. That's after applying coupon code SAVE20 at checkout.

Update: D'oh! Already sold out. I'm sorry, cheeps -- I hate when this happens. Keep checking throughout the day (and even tomorrow) in case Radio Shack adds more stock. Alternately, an outfit called Oak Technology has the Harmony One for $119.99 -- a close runner-up, price-wise.

Update No. 2: In my haste to find an alternative to the Radio Shack deal, I neglected to do my homework on Oak Technology -- which has some extremely unflattering reviews at ResellerRatings. Thanks to reader Jeff for bringing this to my attention.

Unlike past Ones I've posted, this one is new, not refurbished. That's a definite plus, as it affords you a one-year warranty instead of the typical 90 days.

Of course, you're still paying more than $100 for a remote. What makes this one worth it? The Harmony line's claim to fame is a simple (relatively speaking) Web-based interface for setting up your devices, programming "activities" (aka macros), and so on.

The One raises the bar even further with a color touchscreen, a perfect button layout, and a docking station that keeps its rechargeable battery topped off.

CNET's review should tell you everything you need to know about the Harmony One. It's also worth perusing the user reviews on Logitech's product page, which average out to four stars out of five.

The usual caveat applies: I'm not sure how long this coupon code will be in effect or how much inventory Radio Shack has on hand. As always, if you want to score the deal, act fast!

Bonus deal: More free music from Amazon? Hey, I'm not complaining. Go to the listing page for any song or album (like this one), click "Redeem a gift card or promotion code" (underneath the orange Buy button on the right), then enter HEARTMP3 for a $2 MP3 credit!
