Get a color laser printer for $89.99

The Samsung CLP-315 is new, not refurbished, and it doesn't require a single rebate form. It does, however, require a USB port. Rats. All printers should be wireless!

For everyday printing, a color laser beats a color inkjet hands-down. And for just $89.99, it even beats some inkjet prices.

Admit it, you've always wanted a color laser printer, but you just couldn't bring yourself to spend hundreds of dollars on one. Don't feel bad, it's me you're talking to!

Forget hundreds of dollars--how does 90 bucks sound? Newegg has the Samsung CLP-315/XAA color laser printer for $89.99 with free shipping. To get the deal, you have to use the coupon code EMCYVZT76 at checkout and you must be a newsletter subscriber in order for the code to work. You can sign up free and easy on the Newegg home page.

I'm happy to note that this is a new printer, not a refurbished unit, and that the price doesn't require any rebates. But as with any color laser printer, keep in mind that the cost of replacing all four of its toner cartridges can and will cost more than the printer does.

Samsung qualifies the CLP-315 as a "personal" laser printer, meaning it's a little on the low end in terms of speed and print quality. But make no mistake, it's fine for home and home-office use; it's just not the right choice for a Fortune 500 company.

It can crank out up to 17 pages per minute (black) at resolutions up to 2,400 by 600 dpi, which is the same for color prints. It has a 150-sheet input tray, 100-sheet output tray, a USB interface, and it's compatible with Windows and Mac.

CNET hasn't reviewed this particular model, but PC Magazine called it the "personal color laser of choice" and awarded it an Editors' Choice--and that was back when it sold for $200.

Newegg's code is good until July 18, but, as always, the printer could sell out before then.  I only wish the printer had Wi-Fi, but you have to get Samsung's  315W model to get that feature. Even so, I've rarely seen a color laser that cost less.

Bonus deal: Want to keep tabs on the latest PC game deals? Bookmark Deals4Downloads, a terrific Web site that spotlights bargains from EA, Direct2Drive, Steam, and other game-download sources. One fine example: Crysis Warhead for just $9.97.
