Get a 46-inch HDTV for $379

That's just one of the fairly amazing deals being offered this week at Target. There's still time to make your Super Bowl Sunday...superer!

Target is selling a non-refurbished 46-inch LCD HDTV for the Black Friday-like price of $379.

Is it Black Friday again already? Somebody at Target must think so, because they've got a TV deal that has day-after-Thanksgiving written all over it.

I say that having already posted a couple of pretty amazing TV deals in the last few weeks. This one beats them all.

While supplies last, Target has the Apex Digital LD4688T 46-inch LCD HDTV for $379 shipped (plus sales tax where applicable).

That's a whopping $200 off the regular price. And if you have a Target REDcard, you can save an additional 5 percent. Throw Ebates into the mix and you'll get another 3 percent back in cash. Math isn't my strong suit, but I believe that brings your final cost down to around $350. $350!

So, what kind of 46-inch TV could $350 (ish) possibly buy? Because I've found zero reviews of the LD4688T, because I was curious myself, and, of course, because I care about how you spend your money, I stopped by my local Target for an eyes-on appraisal.

On paper, the TV sounds mixed, I'll admit. It has a 6.5ms response time, down-facing speakers, and a 60Hz refresh rate. Granted, most TV speakers sound crummy, regardless of which way they're facing, which is why I recommend either a cheap fix or a not-so-cheap fix .

As for the refresh rate, I'm fine with 60Hz, but some folks feel strongly about having 120Hz, which promises to help combat motion blur. (Here's an interesting overview of refresh rates if you want to learn more.)

Of course, you've got to allow a little slack when you're getting a 46-inch TV for $379--and not even paying for shipping. Just saying.

But enough about the specs--how's the picture? I wish I could say, but the Target store I visited didn't have one on display. Thus, I'm hoping some readers can comment on the overall quality of the Apex.

Personally, I had a hard time walking out of the store without buying one. Even the lower-end TVs I've seen lately have looked pretty darn good, and $379 is just an outright steal. I'm guessing these will be sold out very soon, if not immediately.

By the way, Target has a few other tempting TV deals this week, including a 55-inch Westinghouse (120Hz!) for $599. Yowza!

I think either of these models would make your Super Bowl Sunday a lot, um, superer!

And if Samsung or Vizio are more your style then you might want to check these out:

Vizio 42-inch 1080p LCD $429
Samsung 51-inch 720p Plasma $599
Samsung 46-inch 1080p LED Smart TV $999
