Get a 22-inch LCD with HDMI for $149.99
With HDMI and speakers, TigerDirect is offering a new Hanns-G 21.6-inch wide-screen LCD monitor, not a refurb, and you don't have to deal with any pesky rebates.
No doubt about it--22 inches is the sweet spot for LCD monitors these days. Witness this deal from TigerDirect: a Hanns-G 21.6-inch wide-screen LCD, with HDMI and speakers, for $149.99. Ground shipping will run you a very reasonable $4.99.
It's rare to find both HDMI and built-in speakers in a monitor this inexpensive. The HG-216DPB also delivers 1,680x1,050 resolution, 5ms response time, and a three-year warranty. The speakers crank out 3 watts apiece--not much, but better than the 1 watt in some monitors.
On the downside, the Hanns-G lacks a DVI port--a likely showstopper for some buyers. It does include a VGA port and cable, though no DVI adapter or HDMI cable. The good news is that the user reviews on TigerDirect, Newegg, and Amazon are downright glowing: 4 and 5 stars almost across the board.
I won't say this is a once-in-a-lifetime deal, but it's definitely a good one for anyone in the market for a nice big LCD. In fact, I could see grabbing one of these to put alongside my current 22-incher for some serious expanded-desktop goodness.
Update: If you don't care about the speakers but do prefer DVI to HDMI, here's an Acer 22-incher for $159.99 shipped.
