Get a 16x20-inch photo canvas for $45

That's roughly one-third the regular price, making this deal pretty hard to pass up. But it's a Groupon, so it's available today only!

Couple quick housekeeping items. First, my sincere thanks for all the incredibly kind words of condolence yesterday. I'm deeply touched and endlessly appreciative, and my family feels the same way. Thank you.

Second, I know the Cheapskate newsletter has arrived unusually late the last few days, and many of you missed deal opportunities as a result. My apologies for that. I'm still working with the CNET crew to come up with a better, more timely system for newsletter delivery. Stay tuned!

Third, if you haven't yet checked out CNET's new Marketplace page, home to a steady stream of daily deals, I hope you will. I've just put up a post you might find interesting: "The truth about Black Friday."

OK, on to today's deal. Now that it's officially gift-buying season, here's something I consider a great item for a family member, friend, or even yourself: a photo canvas.

Today only, by way of Groupon, Canvas on Demand is offering a 16x20 photo canvas for $45 shipped. That's with the thick (1.5-inch) gallery wrap, meaning the photo is literally wrapped around the sides of the frame. Regular price: $126.95.

(Say, if you're new to Groupon, feel free to use my referral link to sign up. Then use the previous link to access the deal. Don't worry that it's based in Ft. Lauderdale, Fla.; anyone can grab it.)

These photo canvases are all the rage right now, and I can see why. I recently ordered a couple from a similar outfit, and they're really nice--especially at this generous size, which is great for family photos.

And ordering is a snap. After choosing the size and any other frame options you want, just upload your photo. Easy-peasy.

Although some other photo-canvas shops offer this size and style for around $85 (not including shipping), I've yet to see anything even close to $45. Definitely something to consider!

Bonus deal: Today only, and while supplies last, Bedeals has a SanDisk 8GB microSD card for $6.99 shipped. That's a crazy-good price, so the sellout risk is high. But take note: I've never heard of this site before today. As with any company you patronize online, do your homework before buying. I can only spotlight good deals; I can't vet each and every vendor.
