General Dynamics gets Pentagon IT deal

General Dynamics Government Systems of Needham, Mass., has been awarded a $44 million contract from the Department of Defense to repair and restore information technology systems and infrastructure damaged in the Sept. 11 terrorist attack at the Pentagon. The project is expected to be completed by March 31, 2003. General Dynamics recently reported a first-quarter profit of $229 million, or $1.13 a share, up from $212 million, or $1.05 a share, the year before.
