Grab your snacks, put your phone on silent and get comfy on the couch because there's a bunch of geek treats coming to the small screen in 2016.
Two legendary 1990s cult TV shows return in 2016. "The X-Files" sees Mulder and Scully reunite, while "Twin Peaks" sees David Lynch return to the weird little town.
The comic book phenomenon flies into your living room faster than a speeding bullet. DC's "Legends of Tomorrow" joins popular shows "The Flash" and "Arrow" on the CW, while "Luke Cage" is the next Marvel superhero on Netflix.
But comics aren't just about superheroes. This year we'll see the more mature likes of "Preacher", "Outcast" and "Lucifer" leap from page to screen.
Classic movies also earn a new lease of life with dark hits "Westworld", "The Omen" and "Wolf Creek" expanded into longer stories for TV. A number of movies that didn't strike it big on the big screen get a second crack on the small screen. "His Dark Materials", "The Mortal Instruments" and "Tomorrow, When the War Began" may not have set movie box offices alight, but perhaps they'll be more successful now the original books are set to be adapted into new TV shows.
Streaming services continue to lure big names to their original shows. Woody Allen is on Amazon. Ricky Gervais, Baz Luhrmann and many more are on Netflix. And James Franco is on Hulu.
Amid all these reboots and remakes there are a bunch of interesting new projects originating outside the US. Australia offers "Cleverman" and "The Kettering Incident", while Britain's BBC brings us "The Living And The Dead", "SS-GB" and "Hard Sun".
