GCC Elite printers: ROM update coming for Mac OS X compatibility

CNET staff
GCC has posted a Technical Bulletin concerning printing problems between some of their printers and Mac OS X (Thanks, Randy Overbeck and Richard Wagoner). Here is an excerpt:

GCC's testing department has discovered a printing problem between some of our PostScript printer models and the released version of Mac OS X when printing from 'native' OS X applications. This problem results in a large black area being printed on the page where the text is placed. GCC Engineering has isolated the cause of the issue within our printer ROM code and will soon release a customer installable ROM module that addresses the issue.

Again, this issue only relates to printing from OS X native applications and does not affect users printing from Mac OS 9.1 or earlier, or from the Classic environment within OS X.
