Game over for Tapwave Zodiac

It's official. has discontinued production, service, and support of its Zodiac line. Debuting in 2003, the Zodiac was a groundbreaking Palm PDA that doubled as a portable gaming device. Still, the announcement doesn't come as too much of a surprise, as doubts began to surface about the handheld's future when the company said it would be changing its business model several months ago. Plus, when you're competing against heavy hitters such as Sony and Nintendo, it's hard to get off the ground. The Tapwave Zodiac1 and Zodiac2, as well as the accessories and the game cards, may still be available at retailers such as CompUSA and Fry's, but only as long as supplies last.
