G4 orders cancelled; prices raised; Apple users are furious<br>

Update: Apple reverses position? The main part of this item has been moved to Power Macintosh G4.

On a positive note Apple's earnings (see posting below) were higher than analysts had predicted, especially considering Apple's prior warning about how a G4 shortage would lower revenue. The result is that Apple stock is on the rise (currently over 70 once again) and the press is reporting that Apple's future looks very bright (see NYT article as an example).
