G3 Macs and IXMicro 128M 4MB card: a problem?

Marc Donnelly writes that he could not get the IXMicro 128M 4MB video card (with 4.0.2 drivers installed) to work with his G3/233 desktop Mac. He would get a system crashes at startup. While not everyone appears to have this problem, Marc claimed that IXMicro acknowledged that there is "a likely hardware issue" between the card and G3 Macs.
