Frigidaire unveils new Gallery Collection appliances for 2014

A new high-end double wall oven and dishwasher promise powerful performance and time-saving features.

At the 2014 Kitchen and Bath Industry Show today in Las Vegas, Frigidaire announced two new additions to their Gallery Collection of kitchen appliances: the Gallery Double Wall Oven, and the Gallery Dishwasher. Both will join the refrigerators, stoves, microwaves, and other appliances already bearing Frigidaire's Gallery brand.

Citing a series of studies that show 67 percent of consumers think that their oven takes too long to preheat, while 40 percent don't think it cooks food evenly enough, Frigidaire is promising better performance from the Gallery Double Wall Oven. Its Quick Preheat feature claims to warm the oven in 6 minutes or less -- from there, the oven uses "True Convection" for even cooking. Other features are aimed at easy cleaning, including a One-Touch Quick Clean cycle, as well as what Frigidaire calls the industry's first smudge-proof stainless steel exterior.

The Gallery Dishwasher boasts a matching smudge-proof stainless steel exterior, as well as a stainless steel tub inside of the machine. The dishwasher also features the OrbitClean Spray Arm, which promises four times the cleaning power of standard lower spray arm -- we look forward to comparing it with the WaterWall cleaning cycle featured in Samsung's new Chef Collection Dishwasher, which also promises significantly greater cleaning performance.

The Gallery Double Wall Oven is available now, with models starting at $2699. As for the Gallery Dishwasher, Frigidaire tells us it won't be on sale until March, with prices starting at $799.
