Free update to FileMaker Pro 4.0 coming; includes 4.1 bug fixes

If you already have FileMaker Pro 4.0, you can will be able to get the bug fixes included in the 4.1 version free of charge. R. Lynn Rardin received the following statement from FileMaker Customer Assistance:

"Thank you for your inquiry regarding 4.1 upgrade pricing. There are over 200 bug fixes in 4.1, but only a few new features. The main new feature is ODBC import. In a few weeks we will be posting 4.0v2 which will include the other new features (Excel98 support, Developer Edition full support) and the fixes on our site. This is free of charge. If you want ODBC import, then the upgrade price is $199.00 ($50.00 in box rebate) or if you work within an educational institution, the cost is $119.00 ($20.00 in box rebate if you are upgrading). If you do not require this feature, then you can download the updater."
