Palm software search freeze: a solution A posting in the MacFixIt Forums queries: "I am using Palm Desktop 2.0.1 on an iMac running OS 8.6.1. When I use Command-F, I can search successfully on Contacts, Notes, Calendar, or Entire File; however, if I try to search on Tasks, the cursor changes to a watch, whose hands go round and round while the iMac freezes. Any suggestions?" Another posting supplies the answer.

Topics posting order reconsidered Last time, as a result of reader requests, we changed the load order of posts in the MacFixIt Forums from oldest first to newest first. We suppose we should have anticipated this, but the change resulted in a backlash of readers requesting that we revert to the original order. We are reconsidering our position and will have a final decision by Friday.

Update: It's decided. We will be returning to the "old" way (oldest postings first) by Friday morning. We realize some people will not be pleased with this. But we can't please every one. Overall, unless you are frequently checking a long thread (which hopefully is not something that happens that often), the original display method seems to work best.
