Navigator graphics bug A poster writes: "Using MacOS 8.5.1 or 8.6 on a G3/BW, and any ATI drivers. I've noticed that Netscape 4.5 through 4.6.1 all have a display bug whereby images in cache are incorrectly set when returning to a previously visited page in a session. Frequently, I return to a page to find that a graphic on that page is now placed in another's position, with the incorrect graphic stretched to the correct graphic's <IMG> tag dimensions." Other users chime in that they have the same problem. Possible solutions are discussed.

Installing PPC only software in Mac OS 8.6 Recently, we mentioned that installing the PPC-only version of certain software (particularly from Adobe) did not succeed in Mac OS 8.6. A poster confirms this and offers an explanation and solution.

MS Word 98 and tables Rongold noted problems with table creation in Word 98. Other users chimed in, noting that all updates had been correctly installed, RAM allotment was high, and all other relevant fixes implemented, but the corruption still occurs in Mac and Windows versions. Users caution to save often.

Quark 3.32, G3/BW, and Mac OS 8.6 Woneal and other users note different problems with Quark on a G3/BW running Mac OS 8.6. Recommended solutions are switching to an HFS-formatted drive instead of HFS Plus, disabling ATM Deluxe or Adobe Type Reunion, and running a lean system. [Note: an item in Troubleshooting Mac OS 8.6 covers some of this same territory.]
