Forget New York: Zuckerberg reportedly set to celebrate with staff at HQ

Zuckerberg plans to hang with Facebook employees on IPO day, passing up on the initial plan to ring the Nasdaq opening bell.

Mark Zuckerberg is going to forgo the Nasdaq photo op to hang with his troops at Facebook headquarters when the company goes public on Friday.

That's the latest word on Zuckerberg's plans, coming from the Wall Street Journal. The Journal says that Zuckerberg has changed his plans and now doesn't plan to ring Nasdaq's opening bell at its market site at Times Square.

Facebook had been planning a celebration of sorts at its sprawling headquarters in Menlo Park, Calif., and now apparently Zuckerberg will be joining the festivities, beginning at 6 a.m. The Journal says COO Sheryl Sandberg also will be there.

In some ways, it's the least Zuckerberg could do. He's made his billions, and he's held off going public so long that this will be the first time many of his more than 3,000 employees will see an opportunity to share in the wealth.
