Forget iPhone purple haze, now there's the green glow

Some users have complained that an odd green light appears at the edge of the display when the phone is woken up from sleep mode.

The iPhone 5 appears doomed to suffer from glitches involving different colors.

Following the "purple haze" issue found in some iPhone 5-shot photos, some users are now complaining of a "green glow" found on the display. The green glow is described as appearing on the edge of the screen like plasma bleed, and occurs when the phone is woken out of sleep mode. The Guardian was the first to point this out, citing complaints from a number of different forums.

The green glow supposedly appears for just a split second, but some users complained that the issue was getting worse with time. Users on the forum have noted that Apple will replace iPhone 5 units that show the problem, although some have been turned away because they couldn't consistently replicate the glow.

But it doesn't appear to be widespread, and CNET couldn't replicate the issue on one iPhone 5. The iPhone 5 does use new display technology that allows for a thinner design, and that could be a factor in display issues.
