Kitchen countertops have a way of becoming parceled out with areas for specific tasks. Perhaps one area is good for knife work, while another offers a comfortable place to peel vegetables. It is often a matter of available light, counter space, or even access to an outlet, but whatever the reason, it's how we navigate in a familiar kitchen. If you change the landscape that has been forged over countless hours of food preparation, the whole thing can be thrown out of balance. That is, unless the thing doing the upsetting is a food prep appliance that does it all.

Providing an all-in-one solution for food prep needs, the $299.95 Magimix 3200XL 12-cup food processor is a versatile machine that is capable of many different tasks. While a food processor is always handy for chopping and processing, the 3200XL adds functionality via an assortment of attachments such as an available mash and puree kit, a set of creative slicing discs,  a juice extractor, and smoothie attachment.

While the optional accessories increase its versatility, the food processor is no slouch right out of the box. The 650-watt appliance weighs 21 pounds and comes with three different work bowls and an assortment of discs and blades. In addition to the 6-cup, 10-cup and 12-cup mixing bowls, the food processor also comes with a dough blade, two grating discs, two slicing discs, a blender mix attachment, an egg whisk, and a spatula. About the only thing it cannot do is tell you what to do with all that extra space you are about to have.
