Fixing the Wallstreet "Fan on during sleep" bug

Recently, we noted that OS X 10.1.3 still does not fix the issue where the Wallstreet PowerBook fan runs even when the computer is in Sleep mode. Juan Cabanela believes he has the solution. He writes:

"I found the fix by digging around Apple's Darwin Open Source website. In a nutshell, the problem lies in the AppleHeathrow.kext extension in the /System/Library/Extensions directory. Patching this extension to turn of a particular chip during sleep seems to fix the problem.

I know many people don't know how to compile a fixed extension, so I have now posted details on the fix and a pre-compiled patched system extension."
