Fix for Flip4Mac export problems under QuickTime 7.2

Change audio settings to export properly.

CNET staff

After updating to QuickTime 7.2, many users are experiencing issues with exporting WMV (Windows media) files through Flip4Mac.

One reader writes:

"When I go to export in WMV from Final Cut Express or Quicktime I get an error message that the audio has an inconsistent audio sample rate. The process stalls. I can export into all other formats just not WMV. I am noticing others online having the same problem. I used to be able to export to WMV. The only changes are the latest upgrades to Quicktime 7.2."

Telstream -- the developer of Flip4Mac -- is now offering an official workaround, as follows:

  1. Change the audio setting in your Final Cut sequence setting to 44.1 Khz
  2. Render the audio
  3. Export to Windows Media.

If you're using QuickTime Pro, you will need to export to a QuickTime format with the audio set to 44.1 Khz and then export to Windows Media.

The company says "We hope to have a patch for this problem soon."
