Firmware update, iMate and CD tray: redux

CNET staff
Klaus Warschkow still has the problem where, after updating to Apple's latest firmware, and with Griffin's iMate installed, the CD tray opens at every startup. We had posted reports that this was fixed with the latest iMate driver update, but perhaps the fix does not work in all cases (see one and two). In any case, this is what Griffin told Klaus:

This is a problem with Open Firmware and MANY third party USB devices that causes the CD Tray to open. Apple is aware of the problem and hopefully will address this with a firmware update. The problem just recently came up with the latest Apple firmware upgrade which is also installed on new machines. Also, if the iMate is not connected during startup then the driver will not load properly and may have a red X on it.
