Final Cut Studio 5.1.2 released: PCI Express compatibility; support for FxPlug; more
Apple has released Final Cut Studio 5.1.2 a fairly significant update to the company's professional video editing suite.
Apple's release notes state that this update "addresses effects compatibility issues and video format compatibility, and resolves long-standing issues with video scope performance and audio output." Among the specific enhancements:- native support and corresponding Easy Setups for the following HDV formats: 720p24 and 720p25 (JVC GY-HD100 ProHD camcorder); 1080p24 and 1080p25 (Canon XL H1 HDV camcorder) also called 1080F24 and 1080F25
- updated compatibility with DVCPRO HD.
- resolution of issues with Panasonic P2 camcorders
- active editing of XDCAM HD
- solves an issue that allows real-time playback and effects support for
- MPEG IMX at 30 Mbps
- ability move through the tabs of the active window using the
- following keyboard shortcuts: Select Previous Tab: Command-[; Select Next Tab: Command-]
- PCI Express compatibility
- supports FxPlug, an image-processing plug-in architecture developed
- by Apple.
