Send mail glitch Scott Rose writes that FileMaker Pro 5.0's "send mail" script step, which is supposed to launch the user's email program specified in the Internet control panel and create a new mail message for the user, still will only work in Claris Emailer and Eudora.

Backwards compatibility David Jacobs claims that FileMaker Pro 5 "uses a new format that is not backward compatible. This means that it will not even see 'hosts' of existing FM4 databases." On the plus side, David adds that FMP5 has "a lot of very impressive improvements; my favorites are resizable definition windows, the new value list view, and the import scripts facility."
