Recent changes to investment firm Fidelity's Web site caused Mac users running any version of Quicken (including the latest version, Quicken 2005) to no longer be able to download investment data, instead receiving the error message:

  • [OL-248] error message

MacFixIt reader Scott Rose recently received a response from Fidelity's customer service department indicating that the company is working on the issue and may have a solution shortly.

Fidelity customer service representative Jose Alejandro writes:

"I apologize for the problems you have been experiencing with your Quicken for Mac. As you may know already, this issue is affecting all Quicken for Mac issues and we still do not have a resolution at this time. I sincerely apologize for not having this resolved yet and I do not know why it is taking so long. But I can tell you that it is something that Fidelity is working on with considerable effort now."
